November 2020 General Meeting

George, K1IG, opened another video meeting of the Club with 32 participants. 
 
Alan, W1AHM, presented the Treasurer’s report: 
  1. 92 members 
  2. $6924 balance in the General Fund 
  3. $5705 in the Repeater Fund 
  4. Total cash on hand $13,898. 
 
The evening’s meeting consisted of Show and Tell presentations from members: 
  1. Bob, KC1DSQ, and Bob, W1IS, on a Portable Phased Dipoles for 20m 
    1. Authors of upcoming antenna articles for QST and CQ magazines 
    2. Dipoles showed good on-air results using a KX3 running 5-10 watts on SSB. 
  2. Scott, NE1RD, on how he earned WAS in One Month using FT8. 
    1. Scott documented his day-to-day efforts to get the 50 states. 
  3. Andy, KB1OIQ, spoke on his fun time building the Phaser Digital Mode Transceiver kit. 
    1. Impressed with how the parts were packaged and the documentation. 
  4. Andy, also, spoke on his 160m Inverted L Antenna project. 
    1. Lots of wire. 
  5. And lastly, Gary, KG1RY, showed his Homemade Dashboard Mount for his Icom ID-5100 installed in a Honda CR-V. 
    1. Using the SUV’s dashboard center panel, some Plexiglas and Luckin standoffs, Gary created a neat mount for the Icom’s control head.

 George wrapped up the meeting by reminding us of next month’s meeting for December 15th.
